Instructions for Use (IFU)
UScreen® Oral Plus Multi-Drug 16-Panel Saliva/Oral Fluid Test
This device is designed for the detection of multiple drugs of abuse in human oral fluid. Please read all instructions carefully before use.
1. Preparing for Use
-
Allow the test kit and components to reach room temperature (15–30°C / 59–86°F).
-
Do not place anything in the mouth for at least 10 minutes before specimen collection.
2. Specimen Collection
Using the UScreen® Oral Cube Collection Swab
-
Remove the swab from its packaging and start a timer.
-
Insert the swab horizontally into the mouth.
-
Using a circular motion, gently swab the cheeks, gums, and tongue 5–10 times each.
-
Continue swabbing until the red color appears on the saturation indicator strip.
Important:
-
Do not bite, suck, or chew the swab.
-
Keep it horizontal during collection.
-
If no red color appears after 4 minutes, refer to troubleshooting. If no color appears after 7 minutes, proceed with the test regardless.
3. Inserting the Swab into the Test Device
-
Remove the test cube from the sealed pouch and place it upright on a flat surface.
-
Gently insert the swab into the cube until it reaches the bottom.
-
Press down the cap until securely locked.
Important: Keep the test upright throughout this process.
4. Begin Test
-
Start the timer and keep the device upright until complete.
-
If no test lines appear, peel back the bottom label to check specimen volume.
5. Interpreting Results
Drug Test Results (Interpret at 10 minutes):
-
Negative (-): A line appears in both the control (C) and test (T) regions.
-
Preliminary Positive (+): A line appears only in the control (C) region.
-
Invalid: No line in the control (C) region, or only a line in the test (T) region. Retest with a new device.
Note: Line intensity and width are not relevant to result interpretation.
Alcohol Test Results (Interpret at 3 minutes):
Use the included color chart to interpret the results.
-
Negative (-): No significant color change. A slight color at the pad edges with a mostly unchanged center may require retesting.
-
Positive (+): A full-color change across the pad indicates a BAC of 0.02% or higher.
-
Invalid: If the pad is green prior to saliva contact, do not use the test.
Troubleshooting Notes
-
If test strips do not wick properly, peel the bottom label and check for sufficient fluid.
-
For thick saliva, gently tap or slide the device on a flat surface to aid flow.
-
If the saturation indicator hasn’t turned red after 4 minutes, rotate the swab while swabbing.
